The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) praised Senate approval of the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act (H.R. 5297). The U.S. Senate approved the legislation on Sept. 16.

“The U.S. apparel and footwear industry applauds the House and Senate for quickly approving this bill because of its direct benefit to small and medium sized businesses,” said President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “By voting to expand access to credit for small and medium sized businesses at this critical time, this legislation equips businesses, and the millions of U.S. workers they employ, with a key tool as they continue to face a difficult economic environment. I urge President Obama to sign this bill into law as soon as possible.”

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is the national trade association representing apparel, footwear and other sewn products companies, and their suppliers, which compete in the global market.
