Sourcing trends, customs policies, logistics challenges, and global expansion will be among topics of discussion at the American Apparel & Footwear Association’s Strategic Sourcing, Customs, and Logistics Integration Conference in Washington, D.C. next week.

The conference, which begins April 13, draws sourcing executives from apparel and footwear companies to hear from one another and directly from policymakers.

Featured speakers at this year’s conference include: Ambassador Robert Holleyman, Deputy United States Trade Representative; Mario Cordero, Chairman, Federal Maritime Commission; Sandra Bell, Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Office of International Trade, U.S. Customs and Border Protection; and Duncan Scott, Vice President, External Products, New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc.

The event comes on the heels of recently announced progress on the West Coast ports labor dispute, and as Congress is engaged in a national debate on U.S. trade policies.
