8AM Golf reported that it has become an “investor, partner and advisor” to McLaren Golf, the golf club brand just launched by McLaren Racing.

The official launch of McLaren Golf took place on April 29 in Miami, coinciding with Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix, as well as the PGA Tour’s Cadillac Championship tournament at Trump National Doral in Miami.

McLaren Golf’s first product offerings, developed in conjunction with English golf professional and McLaren Golf ambassador Justin Rose, include the McLaren Golf Series 1 and Series 3 irons. Other ambassadors include Michelle Wie West and Ian Poulter.

According to 8AM’s release, the clubs were “developed through an advanced and highly specialized manufacturing process called Metal Injection Molding (MIM). Rarely used at scale in golf due to its complexity and cost, McLaren Golf utilizes MIM for precision control over material composition, internal geometry and mass distribution. This innovative manufacturing unlocks a level of freedom not possible through traditional forging or casting.”

“We’re extremely honored to be partnering with McLaren on this amazing undertaking,” said Hoyt McGarity, CEO and president of 8AM Golf. “It’s been two years in the making and it’s incredibly gratifying to now see these high performance, precision irons hitting the market. We’re anticipating tremendous growth for years to come and look forward to continuing to advise and lend our expertise to McLaren as they work to do for the golf industry what they have already done for the auto racing industry.”

Howard Milstein, founder and Chair of 8AM Golf, said: “In all our golf-related initiatives, we look for partners who are laser-focused on quality, innovation, and enhancing enjoyment of the game for golfers at all levels. McLaren Golf is the perfect embodiment of this philosophy, combining engineering excellence with a passionate commitment to being the best. We are pleased to provide support and expertise to this new and exciting venture.”

In a separate release, McLaren Golf described 8AM Golf “as a key partner, providing support and consultation through a variety of golf-specific services.”

McLaren Golf is led by Neil Howie, CEO. He was formerly president and managing director of Callaway Golf Europe.

Howie said, “We’ve been working toward this moment for some time, and there’s a real sense of anticipation in seeing it all come to life. Behind the scenes, we challenged every part of the process – from materials to construction – to uphold the exacting standards and constant pursuit of excellence that define McLaren. To now introduce these irons to the world and see them in the hands of golfers is incredibly exciting.”

Based in Scottsdale, AZ, 8AM companies include Golf Magazine and Golf.com; handmade club maker Miura Golf; club-fitter True Spec Golf; Payntr Golf, a maker of golf footwear; Club-Conex a maker of adjustable golf club adapter systems; Fairway Jockey, which offers custom clubs online; 3’s, a par-3 course entertainment concept; and Bounty Club, an 18-hole golf course project near downtown Nashville opened in partnership with musical artist Justin Timberlake.
