37.5/Cocona Natural Technologies announced that it is expanding its senior management team and has appointed apparel veteran Scott Branscum as executive vice president.  In this role, Branscum will lead the company’s global sales, marketing, and merchandising efforts.

“Scott’s exceptional track record of transforming brands in a modern and relevant way brings significant expertise that aligns with the core competencies and vision of 37.5,” said CEO Jeff Bowman.  “As 37.5 technology continues to fuel the performance of cutting edge consumer products, Scott will be integral in the evaluation, development and expansion into new categories, such as bedding and men’s and women’s contemporary apparel.”

“I believe 37.5 technology has the potential for dramatic opportunities beyond the outdoor industry, including lifestyle and luxury brands that are not currently incorporating technology into their textiles,” said Branscum. “I am very excited to join the outstanding team that has been assembled at the company, and look forward to leveraging my expertise in blending fashion, functionality and style to develop high performance products that today’s savvy consumer has come to demand.”

With more than 20 years of brand building and merchandising expertise, Branscum was most recently President of Tumi Apparel, where he was responsible for launching its highly acclaimed outerwear brand. Prior to that, Branscum developed and launched Massif Collection, which married sophisticated fashion with high performance characteristics. He previously served as President and CEO of SB Premier Brands, a Schottenstein-Bernstein division, and was executive vice president of Perry Ellis International, where he launched a new outerwear division, created brand extension categories and developed private label brands for major retailers. Branscum has also held senior positions at leading retailers including Eddie Bauer and Cutter & Buck Corporation.
