2XU (“Two Times You”) has hired former tennis professional Randy Becker to head sales operations in the tennis and golf markets in the U.S. Becker brings years of proven sales and marketing experience to assist 2XU expanding distribution of its best-in-class compression apparel to two sports where athletes are widely adopting compression wear for performance and recovery enhancement.

“I’m incredibly enthusiastic to join the 2XU team,” states Becker. “Over the years, 2XU has proven global success in delivering products that enhance the performance and recovery for athletes of all ages and skill levels. I look forward to being a part of the brand’s ambitious growth goals.”

Becker has been involved in the tennis world for over 30 years, since early childhood and met with success on the Pro Tour. He still enjoys many hours on the court at clubs near his home in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to his playing career, Becker coached the Maze Cup and USA v. Japan Exchange. His extensive experience in tennis includes time as a consultant for top industry brands, Director of Player Development and Board Member for USTA NorCal.

“Interestingly enough, I didn’t discover 2XU through my involvement in tennis”, says Becker, “it was during the preparation for my first triathlon.” Deciding to participate in his first IRONMAN® Triathlon in 2011, Becker was introduced to 2XU’s triathlon and compression apparel which he quickly discovered had tremendous benefits on the court.

“I’m confident that 2XU’s compression apparel will be embraced in the tennis and golf communities, much in the same way it has in triathlon, running, skiing and swimming. The benefits will become obvious to these athletes very quickly,” concludes Becker. “Tennis players and golfers are seeking competitive advantages like any other athlete and there is currently little innovation in the way of high performance apparel. The market is underserved in this respect and 2XU apparel is exactly the type of breakthrough technology it needs.”

Chris Sinkovich, 2XU Director of Sales says of the announcement, “We are extremely excited to have Randy on board to help launch 2XU Compression into the tennis market. Randy's passion and understanding of the tennis market are a huge asset for us and we’re excited to develop these new channels with him leading the charge.”

Becker will lead a team of top industry reps in partnering with various tennis and golf outlets and influencers. Later this month, he’ll be conducting clinics at the upcoming Davis Cup tie with Great Britain in San Diego, CA.
