Every year at the SHOT show a number of SHOT Business magazine and National Shoots Sports Foundation awards are presented.

SHOT Business is the official publication of the NSSF and annually recognizes the best in eight different categories.

Here are the 2013 SHOT Business award winners.

Chain Retailer of the Year – Bass Pro Shops
Distributor of the Year – Sports South
Shooting Range of the Year  – Colonial Shooting Academy, Richmond, VA.
Sales Representative of the Year – Randall Pence, Sturm, Ruger
Company of the Year – Corbon/Glaser
Retailer of the Year – Game Masters, Quincy, IL.
Person of the Year – Mark Malkowski, president of Stag Arms
Special Achievement Award – Steve Sanitti, CEO of NSSF

 “The shot business awards recognize and acknowledge leadership in the shooting sports industry,” said Slayton L White, editor of SHOT Business.  “Simply put the winners of these awards represent the best in this business.”  

NSSF also presented their “Don’t Lie or the Other Guy” award that recognizes retailers who attempt to  detect and deter straw purchases and work to raise public awareness of the crime and penalties.

Patarick Shay, NSSF director of retail development, presented the award to Matt French, Sportsman’ s Wharehouse vice-president of compliance.

The ‘Don’t Lie for the Other Guy’ Award acknowledges our commitment to the gun Control Act, its’ implementing regulations and other firearms laws,” said French. “We genuinely appreciate this recognition from the firearm industry trade association and will proudly display this award.”
